Refunds and the right of withdrawal

Draft — not in force. The operator’s details are not filled in, so this document names nobody and binds nobody. Set LEGAL_NAME, LEGAL_TAX_ID, LEGAL_ADDRESS and LEGAL_CONTACT_EMAIL before taking any money. A production server refuses to start until you do.
The short version
Placing a bid starts the service immediately — your project moves up the moment the payment settles. So before you are sent to payment, you are asked to tick this, in these words:
“I ask for my bid to take effect immediately, and I acknowledge that once another bid overtakes my position the service has been performed in full and I lose my right of withdrawal for that bid.”
Until that happens, you can still withdraw. The rest of this page sets out exactly when.
The 14-day right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days from purchase to withdraw from a contract made online, without giving any reason. That right applies here, with one limit that the law itself provides for and that this service depends on.
When you can still withdraw
While your bid is still holding a position and has not been fully performed, you may withdraw within 14 days of paying. We will refund you, reduced in proportion to the part of the service already delivered — that is, the time your project actually spent at the position you paid for.
When the right has ended
Once someone outbids you, the service you bought has been delivered in full: you held the position for exactly as long as the rules allowed, which is until a higher bid arrived. At that point the withdrawal right is spent, because you expressly asked for immediate performance and acknowledged this when you bid.
This is not us opting out of consumer law. It is the mechanism the Consumer Rights Directive provides for services that are performed immediately at the consumer’s request, and it is why the acknowledgement is collected at the checkout rather than buried here.
Refunds outside the withdrawal right
We refund a bid in full, without you having to ask, when:
- a payment was taken but the bid was never applied to the ranking, for any reason on our side;
- we remove the project you bid on because it broke the terms;
- we correct the ranking and the correction moves your project down;
- the service was unavailable for an extended period while you held a paid position — refunded in proportion to what was lost.
We do not refund a bid because the position did not produce the traffic, customers or attention you hoped for. A bid buys a position, and no outcome beyond that is promised anywhere on this site.
How to withdraw or ask for a refund
Write to from the email address on your account. Any clear statement is enough — you do not need a particular form of words. Tell us which bid you mean; the date and amount are enough to identify it.
How the money comes back
- To the same card you paid with. We cannot send a refund anywhere else.
- Within 14 days of us accepting the withdrawal or deciding the refund.
- Without any fee from us. How long your bank takes to show it is up to them, usually a few working days.
- The ranking changes with it. A refunded bid stops counting, so the projects behind it move up.
If we get it wrong
If you think a refund was wrongly refused, reply and say so. If we still disagree, consumers in the European Union may use the Commission’s online dispute resolution platform, and you keep every right the law of your own country gives you.
