Ranking transparency

Draft — not in force. The operator’s details are not filled in, so this document names nobody and binds nobody. Set LEGAL_NAME, LEGAL_TAX_ID, LEGAL_ADDRESS and LEGAL_CONTACT_EMAIL before taking any money. A production server refuses to start until you do.
Position on this board is bought. The only thing that decides the order of the ranking is how much has been bid. No editorial judgement, no relevance score, no quality assessment and no algorithm is involved.
The main parameters, in order
There is one, and then a tie-break. That is the whole ranking:
- Amount bid. The highest settled bid holds the highest position. Everything else follows from this.
- Time, only to break a tie. If two projects hold the same amount, the one that reached it first ranks higher. In practice ties are rare, because the minimum to take a position is €1 above the bid being beaten.
A bid only counts once it has actually been paid and settled. A checkout that was started and abandoned, or a payment that failed, changes nothing. A refunded bid stops counting.
What payment does not buy
- No permanence. A position is held only until someone bids more. There is no minimum time at the top, and nothing is reserved.
- No endorsement. A high position means money was paid. It is not a recommendation, a review, a verification or any statement about the quality, safety or legality of the project.
- No guaranteed audience. Bidding buys a position on this board. It does not buy a number of visitors, clicks, customers or any other outcome, and none is promised.
Projects shown outside the ranking
Some places on the site show a small selection of projects rather than the ranking order — the featured strip on the home page, for example. Where that happens it is labelled, and the selection is made by us. It is never sold separately from a bid without being marked as such.
Advertising
The board itself is the paid product, so there is no separate advertising mixed into the results. If that ever changes, paid advertising will be labelled as advertising, distinctly from the ranking.
Why this page exists
Online marketplaces in the European Union must disclose the main parameters that determine ranking and state whether payment influences it. That obligation comes from Directive (EU) 2019/2161, which amended the Consumer Rights and Unfair Commercial Practices Directives.
The rule exists to stop paid placement being passed off as merit. Here it is the opposite: paid placement is the entire premise, stated on the home page and repeated on the leaderboard. Nothing is hidden and nothing needs to be.
